Welcome to Wakefield On behalf of the City of Wakefield, I would personally like to thank you for your interest in our city. I am sure you will find Wakefield a wonderful place to live. Wakefield is only a 20 minutes drive to Fort Riley and 35 minutes to Manhattan and the home of Kansas State University. If you enjoy the outdoors, Wakefield is the place to be. Our town is located on the banks of beautiful Milford Lake. Milford Reservoir is Kansas' largest manmade lake, with 163 miles of shoreline and over 16,000 surface acres. Five minutes to fantastic fishing, boating and water sports! Milford Lake and the surrounding 21,000 acres make up one of Kansas' prime outdoor habitats. Native and red cedars line the irregular shoreline. Known as the "Lake of Blue Water," it is one of the more scenic of Kansas' lakes. Wakefield is also known as the “Gateway to the Wetlands” where you will find an abundance of water fowl as well as different species of wildlife. Talk about an outdoorsman’s paradise!! In order to answer any questions you might have, and to better assist you in your move to Wakefield, please contact the City of Wakefield at 785-461-5886 or by email at cityofwakefield@eaglecom.net . Again, thank you for your interest in Wakefield. We look forward to hearing from you soon! |
